Ufa will host a meeting of Volga Interregional Council of All-Russian Society of Disabled People

UFA, 2 June 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Ufa, a meeting of the Volga Interregional Council of the All-Russian Society of Disabled People (VOI) will be held from June 2 to 5.

The congress will be attended by the Chairmen of 14 regional VOI organizations of Volga Federal District, as well as the Chairman of the All-Russian Society for the Disabled, State Duma deputy, the Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee for Labour, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, member of the athletes commission of the International Paralympic Committee Mikhail Terentyev.

The work program of the event includes a large range of issues related to the creation of jobs for the disabled, transport infrastructure and social infrastructure availability for people with limited mobility.

The Interregional Councils of the All-Russian Society of Disabled People is a collegial body composed of the Chairmen of the regional VOI organizations within each federal district of Russia. The Councils meet at least once a year in different regions to discuss issues and current problems of the disabled with a view to developing a common strategy in their solution. In particular, there is an exchange of practices between regional organizations and authorities in solving the problems of social integration of disabled people, implementation of the state program "Accessible Environment".
