Ufa brought together leading ophthalmologists of East and West

UFA, 21 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Ufa united leading ophthalmologists of East and West, who came at the traditional 6th International Scientific and Practical Conference on Ophthalmology. Participants included more than 700 highly skilled professionals and scientists from Russia, Europe and Asia.

A key element of the forum was live broadcast from a large operation demonstration room of the Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases, with surgeries held by leading Russian and German surgeons.

All operations can be viewed and after the conference in a special video collection on the website of Ufa Research Institute.

The spectrum of interests of ophthalmic community is very broad; however, the search for new scientific and technological solutions remains one of its main components. Therefore, the conference can be called a training platform, the forum participants noted.

The Director of Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases Muharram Bikbov drew attention to the fact that the conference "East - West 2015" was held on the eve of the SCO and BRICS Summits. In this connection, a special session will be held, in which ophthalmologists of India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will present the results of their studies.

For the first time an interactive poster session and a video session will be organized at the conference, followed by discussions. Participants of the video sessions are ophthalmosurgeons from Russia and Ukraine. The best reports and video will be awarded diplomas and commemorative medals.

For the second year in a row on-line broadcast of the conference is provided. Each person anywhere in the world can take part-time participation in the discussions.

In the foyer a traditional exhibition of medical equipment and drugs, scientific literature is displayed.
