Rustem Khamitov has met with the head of the Kuibyshev Railway Sergey Solozhenkin

On May 19, at the House of the Republic, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the head of the Kuibyshev Railway - branch of JSC "Russian Railways" Sergey Solozhenkin. The parties discussed the preparation of infrastructure of Ufa railway junction for the SCO and BRICS Summits, as well as the organization of suburban passenger traffic.

“We have 50 days before the beginning of the SCO and BRICS Summits. Some of the guests will come by train. But even this is not the most important. The main thing is that the station should be convenient for our residents. People should feel comfortable there. And this should result in increased passenger traffic”, Rustem Khamitov said.

“All measures on renovation of our infrastructure, buildings, structures now under control and will be implemented in due time,” Sergey Solozhenkin answered. “With regard to the station, the completion dates are scheduled for June 20. Today, every effort is made to perform the planned works by this time.”

The Head of the Region also touched upon the organization of the suburban trains focusing on the necessity to modernize the infrastructure of this transport type.

“The Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the few regions that has preserved all the commuter traffic. Today, transportation is provided for the population completely, on a full scale. In the future, through a working group we will work out an issue related to the development of the city train from Shaksha to Chishmy, also building transport hubs. We have already begun the work related to the construction of new platforms,” Sergey Solozhenkin said.
