Athlete from Bashkiria became European champion in Sports Sambo
UFA, 18 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Rustem Arslanov, the athlete from Bashkortostan won the gold medal at the European Championships in Sport Sambo, held in Zagreb.
In the weight category over 100 kg Rustem Arslanov (coach Solomon Kobiashvili) won a strong-willed victory over Bulgarian Ivan Ilievoy. The third place was shared between Belarusian Yuri Rybak and Ukrainian Razmik Tonoyan.
The Russian team won 25 medals at the championship, including 11 highest awards, seven silver medals and seven bronze ones. The Russians won the team competition in sports sambo tournament among men and combat sambo, and were the third in sports sambo among women, the Ministry of Youth and Sports RB informs.
Rustem Arslanov competes not only in sambo, he is also the winner of various competitions in judo, belt and kuresh national wrestling.
