Inter-regional cultural and sports festival for children with diabetes is held in Ufa

UFA, 14 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Ufa an inter-regional cultural and sports festival "Dream, Live, Create!" is held. Children and young people from the Volga Federal District suffering from diabetes will be participants of the event.

The festival is organized by the Regional Public Organization "Diabetic Society of the Republic of Bashkortostan "Phoenix" with support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection RB and the Youth Public Chamber of the State Assembly RB. Goals of the event are identification and activation of creative and sporting potential of children with disabilities, increasing social activity and formation of positive attitude of society towards people with disabilities, ensuring full participation of children with diabetes in the community life.

The first stage of the festival will be held in the shopping mall "Mega" on May 23. Sports relay races, competitions and a concert are organized for children with diabetes invited from cities and regions of the republic. This day a charitable SMS-campaign "I want to live, to dream, to create" to raise funds for the purchase of insulin pumps will run. Gifts from sponsors - diabetic food stores will be handed out.

The second stage is scheduled for late summer. In November a summarizing gala concert will complete a series of events aimed at changing the quality of life and social adaptation of children with type 1 diabetes. In the final stage, it is expected participation of young guests from the Volga Federal District and Kazakhstan.
