Ufa welcomed a flag raised on Elbrus with official symbols of BRICS and SCO Summits

UFA, 12 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Ufa, in the city Victory Park, a flag raised on Elbrus with the official symbols of BRICS and SCO Summits was solemnly handed over to the administration of our capital. The event was attended by the Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ruslan Mirsayapov, Ufa Mayor Irek Yalalov, the head of Ordzhonikidze district administration Marat Galiullin and mountaineers who climbed Elbrus. As reported earlier by Bashinform News Agency, on Thursday, May 7, active Ufa residents as part of a group of Russian climbers during the annual international festival of extreme winter sports «Red Fox Elbrus Race-2015" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, rose to Elbrus and installed the flag there symbolizing the events that will soon take place in Ufa - the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS group. At the initiative of the Ufa climbers, one flag was left at Mount Elbrus at an altitude of 5642 m as a sign of upcoming events. The same flag the climbers brought by automobile race across Pyatigorsk, Elista, Volgograd, Saratov, Samara, having paid homage and respect to the fallen soldiers, and laid flowers at the memorials and monuments in these cities.

Symbols of Bashkortostan and Ufa visited many parts of the world: they were at the top of South America, in the northern part of Norway - Svalbard.

The flag with symbols of the upcoming events was officially handed over to the city administration and will be stored in the museum in Ufa.
