More than 14 thousand children were born in Bashkortostan since the beginning of the year

UFA, 7 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. More than 14,000 babies were born in Bashkortostan since the beginning of this year. For the first quarter 2015 the infant mortality rate decreased to 7.2 per mille, in the same period last year the figure was 8.7 per mille. These figures were reported by the Deputy Minister of Health RB Ralida Shakirova, speaking on a conference call with the heads of medical organizations on topical issues of healthcare.

Another issue was discussed at the meeting - the death rate from cardiovascular diseases (CVD), including ischemic heart disease (IHD) and cerebrovascular disease (CVD).

According to Deputy Minister Elsa Syrtlanova, for the first quarter of this year, the death rate of the population from CVD was 552 per 100 thousand people, including ischemic heart disease - 45 percent, cerebrovascular disease - 40 percent. The mortality rate of working age population from CVD was 179 per 100 thousand people.

"We must make every effort to further improve these indicators, while strengthening early diagnosis and early treatment of patients in this category", Elsa Syrtlanova, the press service of the Ministry of Health RB quoted.
