Memorial stele devoted to 136 residents of Bazilevka village not returned from the war is established in Ufa

UFA, 1 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elvira Latypova/. In Bazilevka village of Ufa a memorial stele devoted to 136 local residents who fell on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War is established. Its grand opening will be held at noon on May 5, the press service of the city administration informs.
The memorial is a set of marble slabs carved with the names of the soldiers. Its central part is decorated with a golden inscription "Eternal memory. 1941-1945" and a laurel branch as a symbol of glory, victory and peace. At the foot of the stele a capsule of Eternal Flame as a red star is mounted.
Veterans and home front workers of the World War II, children and grandchildren of war veterans, participants of local wars, the cadets are invited at a meeting on the occasion of the opening of the memorial. A concert program, demonstration of military equipment, ceremonial guard of honour are planned. There will be a mobile kitchen trailer.
The works on establishing a memorial in Bazilevka began in 2014. They were organized by the administration of the Kalinin district of Ufa, with the assistance of JSC "Ufa Engine Industrial Association" (UMPO) and the municipal unitary enterprise "Tral".
