Applications for Seminar-Laboratory of Modern Drama and Directing can be submitted in Bashkortostan

UFA, 1 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan announces applications acceptance for participation in the 2nd Republican Seminar-Laboratory of Modern Drama and Directing. Both beginners and professional artists from Bashkortostan are invited.

Competitive materials, written in Russian and Bashkir languages in the past two years in the following areas are accepted: a play for an adult audience; a play for young people; a play for children. The applications can be submitted by June 1, e-mail: [email protected].

Participants will be educated by the leading theatre critics of Russia and Bashkortostan. There will be master classes of famous Russian and national playwrights, a round-table conference on contemporary drama, meetings and discussions with prominent theatrical figures.

The Seminar-Laboratory is carried out to identify and attract new young authors to collaborate with theatre companies of the republic, to establish cooperation of playwrights with theatres and printing media.

The first Republican Seminar-Laboratory was held in 2014. It was attended by 14 young playwrights and five directors. The teachers of the Seminar were theatre critics, film and theatre directors.
