Rustem Khamitov met with members of Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan

On April 15, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with members of the Sub-Commission on Transport of Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan - the first Vice-Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kasymbek, Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia Sergey Aristov and Director of International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Roman Alexandrov.

The parties discussed the development of transport infrastructure, including a possibility of opening this year direct air links between Ufa and Kazakhstan.

The construction progress of the international route "Europe - Western China", in particular, the section of the road in the direction of Orenburg and towards the border of Kazakhstan was also discussed at the meeting.

“Initially, it was assumed that this road will pass by our republic. We worked on it and shifted the east passage. 285 km of road will go over our territory. We are very interested in this through-passage”, Rustem Khamitov stressed.

Recall that the international route "Europe - Western China" will go over the territory of Russia, Kazakhstan and China. An agreement on construction of the road is signed between the two countries and the exit points to the state borders are designated. In Russia, the road starts from St. Petersburg and ends at Sagarchinskoe village of Orenburg region on the border with Kazakhstan. The total route length is 8.5 thousand km, of which 2.2 thousand km will run in the territory of the Russian Federation.

The zone of influence of traffic formation includes such major industrial centres of Bashkortostan, as Sterlitamak, Salavat, Ishimbai and Belebey. In this regard, the road Bavly - Kumertau is being designed in the republic with length of 282 km. 73 bridge structures and artificial structures with length of 9.2 km are provided. The cost of construction will be 114.9 billion rubles.
