All-Russia People’s Front did not support the initiative of the Russian Ministry of Finance to raise the retirement age

UFA, 15 April 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Catherine Sokolova/. All-Russia People’s Front (ONF) did not support the initiative of the Russian Finance Ministry to raise the retirement age. This was stated by the representative of the Central Headquarters of the People’s Front, the deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Labour and Social Policy Mikhail Moiseev, according to the federal portal of ONF.
The idea of raising the retirement age for the Russians was expressed by the Finance Minister Anton Siluanov. The Minister stressed that international experts recommend increasing the retirement age to 65 years for men and women (currently 55 years for women and 60 years - for men), according to TASS. The Ministry of Finance offers to stay at 63 years. According to the Minister, these measures will reduce the burden on the budget and mitigate the effects of reducing the number of economically active population.
"We have not come to that boundary, such as the Europeans, whose life expectancy is much higher. In Russia this figure is 70.9 years", the web portal of ONF quoted Mikhail Moiseev.
According to him, it would be possible to return to the discussion about raising the retirement age only after the pensions of Russians will be able to ensure a dignified old age.
