Participants of the first environmental volunteer clean-ups collected 11,000 tons of waste in Bashkortostan

UFA, 14 April 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Bashkortostan environmental campaign on clean up and landscaping of settlements has started. The first spring volunteer clean-ups were held on April 11.

According to the Ministry of Nature Management and Ecology RB, about 320 thousand people attended ecological events, collected and transported to landfills and dumps 11,000 tons of household solid waste. The proportion of treatment and improvement of settlements of the republic amounted to six percent.

Landscaping and repair of pavement is being performed. Landscaping events were held in Aurgazy, Bizhbulyak and Ufa regions. To date, 67,000 trees and shrubs were planted, about 102 thousand square metres of pavement and other elements of accomplishment were repaired.

Environmental campaign in the republic will last until May 16.
