In some countries (Yugoslavia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, France, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Albania, Vietnam, the Philippines) resistance movement grew into a war of national liberation against the fascist invaders. In Yugoslavia and Albania, national liberation war against the invaders merged with the civil war against internal reaction. In the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, the leading forms of movement were the strike movement and the anti-fascist demonstration. In Germany, the main method was the conspiratorial activities of clandestine groups to engage the population in the struggle against fascism, distribution of campaign materials, assistance to foreign workers and prisoners of war deported to Germany.
In each country, the resistance movement was deeply national in nature, but at the same time it was an international movement, as it had the common goal - the defeat of fascism, liberation of occupied territories from invaders. Activities of the movement participants in different countries significantly contributed to the victory of the anti-Hitler coalition and approached the end of the war.
