Natural population and migration decline are marked in Bashkortostan

UFA, 6 April 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elvira Latypova/. The population of the republic decreased by 2229 people in January-February. Bashkortostan Statistics Agency recorded both natural and migration loss.

According to statistics, for two months 8938 people were born in the region – by 8.2 percent lower than the same time last year. 9166 people died - a 3.1 percent increase. Thus, the natural decline in the population was 228 people. In Bashkortostan, the number of deaths exceeded births by 2.6 percent (12.8 percent on average across the Russian Federation).

In the Volga Federal District, the natural increase of the population was marked in Tatarstan (590 people) and the Udmurt Republic (86). It was observed in 25 subjects throughout the country.

The main causes of deaths in Russia - diseases of the circulatory system (51.6 percent on average across Russia, 40.2 percent in Bashkortostan), malignant and benign tumors (14.6 and 10.9 percent), accidents, poisoning and injuries (8.1 percent in the Russian Federation and Bashkortostan).

The volume of migration flows amounted to 41.1 thousand cases in the region for two months. 8.3 thousand people left the territory of the republic. 6.3 thousand people selected Bashkortostan as the place of permanent residence. Net migration was negative: minus 2,001 people.
