UFA, 27 March 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. The All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM) presented data on how many Russians are now planning to buy a car and for how much. In the country the average purchase price and the popularity of car loans decrease. Demand is redistributed toward used cars.
Three-quarters of respondents reported that they currently had no plans to buy a car. 20 percent of respondents informed about their plans to buy a car in the future. In comparison with the previous year the share of those who are planning to buy used cars significantly increased (from 29 to 40 percent). The number of people willing to buy a new car of foreign production decreased (from 38 to 29 percent). 14 percent of respondents would like to purchase a new domestic car, 13 percent - the used one.
The average amount of purchase also fell - from 13097 dollars in 2014 to 9254 this year, approaching the value of 2006 (9940 dollars). About one-third of survey participants plan to buy a car on credit, whereas last year there were more than half of them.
