More than 5.5 billion rubles were allocated to support mothers and children in Bashkiria

In Bashkortostan in the amount of benefits paid by the regional office of the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation, the largest share is accounted for payments related to motherhood and childhood. Last year, they amounted to 5.5 billion rubles. These data were reported at the enlarged meeting of the Coordinating Council of the regional branch of the Social Insurance Fund in Bashkortostan.
As the press service of the Fund explained, the most significant type of benefits in terms of mothers support especially for working women was maternity leave. Last year, more than 34.5 thousand working women were paid these benefits in the amount of more than 2 billion rubles. An average sum of this benefit in the republic amounted to more than 65 thousand rubles.
More than 64 million working people were recipients of benefits for child care up in 2014. Total payments amounted to more than 2 billion 800 million rubles.
The number of beneficiaries of child care benefits for the first baby has been steadily declining in favour of beneficiaries for the second child in the family since 2012. Thus, a complex of governmental measures aimed at stimulating the birth rate of the second children, was considered a success.
Bashkortostan for several years confidently occupies the fifth position in the birth rate among the subjects of the Russian Federation. In 2014, more than 60.5 thousand children were born in the republic.
