More than 35,000 people with SARS were registered in Bashkortostan for a week

UFA, 27 February 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Over 35,000 cases of SARS were registered in Bashkortostan for a week.

According to the regional Directorate of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights), the incidence was 86 per 10 thousand people, which is higher than the weekly epidemic threshold for the total population by 48 percent.

In Ufa, during the same period about 12,000 cases of SARS were registered, the rate was 109 per 10,000 people, which is above the epidemic threshold for the total population by 56 percent.

According to laboratory studies, the incidence of SARS has a mixed etiology and is caused mainly by the circulation of non-influenzal viruses (adeno-associated viruses, RS viruses), as well as seasonal influenza A (H3N2) and B.
