All-People’s Front proposes to use maternity capital for treatment of children with disabilities

UFA, 27 February 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Catherine Sokolova/. The activists of the All-People’s Front put forward an initiative to expand the use of the maternity capital - to make provisions for use of state support funds for the treatment of children with disabilities.

“This is a timely initiative, and it will be good, if it is supported,” the Co-Chairman of the regional headquarters of the All-People’s Front in Bashkortostan, the member of the Central Headquarters of All-People’s Front Elvira Aitkulova said. “The main issue that may affect the rapidness of such decision taking relates to procedure of funds usage. On the one hand, it should be easy to use, without unnecessary paperwork, and on the other it should be safe, to protect families from fraud and pseudomedical services. Perhaps this question should be discussed at the level of the public, for example, among the parents whose children are in need of treatment.”

According to statistics, 96.8 percent of families now use the maternity capital to buy housing. But mothers repeatedly appealed to the public authorities with requests to allow directing state means for treatment of their children with disabilities.
