Ufa will become a pilot platform of the "Safe City" project

UFA, 13 February 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. The capital of Bashkortostan will become a pilot venue of the "Safe City" project. The decision was taken at the interdepartmental meeting held by Chief Federal Inspector in the Republic of Bashkortostan Andrey Chechevatov.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Marat Magadeev, the Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic for Transport and Road Facilities Ilyas Munirov, the Head of Ufa Administration Irek Yalalov, representatives of the Ministry of Interior and Emergencies Ministry.

Currently 435 video cameras, 145 of them - in Ufa are used in the maintenance of public order and public safety in 31 territorial formations of the republic.

In the period from 2009 to 2014, 869 crimes were revealed due to the cameras. In 2015, it is planned to install 167 video cameras in the capital on the eve of the SCO and BRICS Summits.

The meeting participants noted that the major problem was the lack of effective interaction mechanisms between the executive bodies of state authority and local governments. In order to integrate the resources it is necessary to develop common technical requirements and standards.

Following the meeting, the participants agreed that Ufa would be a pilot area for the integration of existing resources in the region in the framework of the "Safe City" project. For two years in a row Ufa becomes the best city on security issues in the Volga Federal District, and ranks second in the Russian Federation.
