Ufa is chosen to host the 5th All-Russian Science Festival 2015

UFA, 10 February 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Ufa, along with Moscow, Rostov-on-Don and Krasnoyarsk will host the 5th National Festival of Science in 2015. The decision was taken yesterday at the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, where a meeting of the organizing committee of the festival was held. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee - Education and Science Minister Dmitry Livanov, Co-Chairman, Rector of Lomonosov’s Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy, representatives of regions and high-tech industry enterprises. Bashkortostan was represented by the acting Rector of Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU), the President of the Academy of Sciences RB Ramil Bakhtizin, who made a presentation of Ufa as the main regional venue of the festival. The Organizing Committee unanimously supported the candidacy of the Bashkir capital as the main venue of Science Festival 2015 in the Ural and the Volga Federal Districts.

As the press officer of the Fund for Support and Development of Science RB Guzel Gumerova specified, lectures by leading scientists from Russia and the world, exhibitions of the latest multimedia technologies, unusual educational shows will be held in Ufa from September 25 to 27. The major scientific event will involve all universities, institutes and research institutions.

Last year, the National Festival of Science was held in 70 subjects of the Federation, it was visited by about two million people, 70 percent of them were schoolchildren and students.

After the meeting of the organizing committee the Acting Rector USPTU Ramil Bakhtizin will meet with the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Dmitry Livanov and the Rector of the Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy.
