Minister of Telecom & Mass Communications of Russia presented YotaPhone to a resident of Ufa

UFA, 10 February 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arthur Basyrov/. The resident of Ufa Yamil Ixanov received a YotaPhone smartphone from the Minister of Telecom & Mass Communications Nikolai Nikiforov. The Ufa resident became the millionth subscriber in Russia, who took advantage of the service of changing mobile operator thus retaining a mobile number. This was reported on the website of the department.

The Minister congratulated the resident of Ufa by phone.

“The service of number portability between different mobile networks is an international standard in the field of communications, and last year it became available to residents of Russia,” Nikolai Nikiforov said. “On the example of Ufa, it is clear that the service of number portability not only works, but also in high demand.”

The Minister said that special attention to improving the communications infrastructure in Ufa would be paid in connection with the SCO and BRICS forums, which would be held in the capital of Bashkortostan in the summer of 2015.
