Rustem Khamitov inspected the construction progress of a new terminal at Ufa International Airport
UFA, 5 February 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Iliya Spiridonov/. On February 5, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov acquainted with the construction progress of the new terminal at Ufa International Airport, built in preparation for the SCO and BRICS Summits to be held in Ufa.
The Director General of the airport Alexander Andreev told the Head of the Region, that the construction works were fulfilled by 85-90 percent. In the departure lounge all finishing works are completed, jetways and check-in desks are installed. In the coming days, installation of process equipment will be started.
The Head of the Republic visited the public and office premises of the international terminal being under construction, including the luggage loading areas and passport control, arrival and departure halls. At the border checkpoint of the Russian Federation the installation of communication equipment is nearing completion, the works to be finished by the end of February.
The facilities testing will be started from February 20, and putting of the international terminal into operation is scheduled for late March. Rustem Khamitov urged builders and tenants accelerating work to finish everything in time.
Recall that the new international terminal with a total area of 16 thousand sq m will increase the capacity of overseas destinations up to 800 passengers per hour.
