Bashkortostan is ready to issue about 40 thousand work permits to foreign nationals

UFA, 27 January 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. It is planned that about 40 thousand foreign citizens can enter Bashkortostan in 2015. Under the law, each of them will have to obtain a work permit. This was announced by the Chief Federal Inspector in the Republic Andrey Chechevatov at the recent session on the execution of the order of the President of Russia on introduction of a mandatory exam in the Russian language, history of the Fatherland, the basics of the legislation for migrant workers.

Since 1 January 2015, taking exams in the Russian language, Russian history and the basics of the Russian legislation is mandatory for all foreign nationals wishing to obtain a citizenship, a temporary residence permit or work permit. In order to get a job legally, foreign nationals within 30 days should submit the documents to obtain a permit. They should pass an exam in the Russian language, history, culture and law of Russia, undergo a medical examination and be fingerprinted. In case of infringement of the terms foreign citizens may be subject to administrative proceedings, at repeated infringement – they may be deported from the Russian Federation.

A foreign citizen is obliged to pay about 4900 rubles for the exam taking procedure. He can pass preliminary training courses in specially created centres at republican institutions of higher education. Fees depending on the number of academic hours may range from 1500 to 2500 rubles. After passing the exams the confirming documents should be sent to the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia for direct registration of certificates.

The Chief Federal Inspector drew attention to the observance of principle of voluntariness at passing training course by migrants. In addition, migration officers should raise awareness of foreign nationals on this matter.

Following the session, the participants agreed that in the period until February 10 educational institutions will submit to the Government of the Republic a list of academic centres, specifying number of teachers and examination boards structure.
