French specialists have started two ambient air quality monitoring stations in Ufa

UFA, 16 January 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. French specialists arrived in Ufa to run two automated air quality monitoring stations. They are located in the northern part of the city, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Nature Management and Ecology RB Nina Nikandrova informs.
The stations are equipped with the most modern equipment proven worldwide. It is a system to measure meteorological parametres, air sampling and analytical processing continuous measurements of more than 20 substances concentrations. The equipment is fully adapted to the regional conditions.
Funding for the project is undertaken by JSOC Bashneft. Implementation of the project is carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology RB, the Directorate of the State Analytical Control, Ufa administration.
“The similar monitoring system over air pollution operates in Sterlitamak since 2009. Over the years it has proven its effectiveness,” the Minister of Nature Management and Ecology RB Ildar Hadyev said. “The number of violations and complaints of air pollution has decreased three times.”
At the end of 2014 the Order of the Government of Bashkortostan Republic was signed to equip industrial cities - Ufa, Sterlitamak, Salavat with 18 such stations. Eight of them will be located in the Bashkir capital. Agreements with other industry leaders - JSC "Gazprom neftekhim Salavat" and JSC "Bashkir Soda Company" are near completion too.
