"Kandry-Kuhl" Natural Park became the most visited holiday destination in Bashkortostan in 2014

"Kandry-Kuhl" Natural Park became the most favourite piece of nature, which was visited by about 66 thousand people in Bashkortostan in 2014. "Asly-Kuhl" which took more than 18 thousand people, is on the second place. "Iremel" and "Muradymovskoe Gorge" Natural Parks were attended by about 17 and 16 thousand tourists, respectively.

Total more than 117 thousand people visited natural parks, located in the territory of Bashkortostan, in the past year, according to the Ministry of Nature Management and Ecology RB. According to the department, the number of those wishing to relax at unique places of the republic is increasing annually. Significant growth was observed at "Iremel" Natural Park. Last year this hill was visited by 5.5 thousand of tourists more than in 2013.

According to the Deputy Minister of Nature Management and Ecology RB Ildus Yakhin, except for the main purpose of natural parks - biodiversity preservation, they are facing and other important tasks. Among them there is improvement and development of areas, observation of special protection regulations by visitors, environmental education.

In general, protected areas occupy 7.2 percent of the total area of our region. Among them, in addition to natural parks there are 27 state nature reserves, 182 natural monuments. The "Bashkir Ural" biosphere reserve, which includes the "Shulgan-Tash" reserve, "Bashkiria" National Park, "Muradymovskoe Gorge" Natural Park, "Altyn Solok" and "Iksky" wildlife sanctuaries are located in the territory of the republic. The "Bashkir Ural" is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
