HC Salavat Yulaev again beat Ak Bars (Kazan)
UFA, 13 January 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. In Ufa the match of the Kontinental Hockey League Championship finished yesterday. HC Salavat Yulaev hosted Ak Bars (Kazan).
In the first period the teams exchanged goals: Alexander Kutuzov opened the scoring in the powerplay due to penalty of Justin Azevedo, and the same Justin Azevedo evened the score in the end of the period.
In the second period Salavat Yulaev was more fortunate having realized the Ak Bars’ mistakes. At first Denis Tolpeko made a good throw - 2: 1, and then Anton Slepyshev completed a counterattack with a puck in the net - 3: 1.
In the third period Teemu Hartikainen made a breakaway goal - 4:1. But then Igor Mirnov and Michael Varnakov returned their team in the game - 3:4.
And still, Salavat Yulaev held the advantage with a blasting throw by Alexander Kutuzov again - 5:3.
This is the second win in the season of Ufa team over Ak Bars and the second in succession over the leaders of the Eastern Conference.
The next match Salavat Yulaev will hold against the guests from HC Automobilist (Yekaterinburg) on January 14.
