Our republic became recognizable abroad due to achievements of Ufa sports clubs - President of Bashkortostan

UFA, 31 December 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. In the House of the Republic the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a meeting with representatives of the leading federal and regional media.

In his interview to reporters Rustem Khamitov marked success of the Ufa football club last year.

“I've been following our football club progress, as well as the hockey one. I would like them to continue playing in the Premier League”, the head of the republic said.

Bashkortostan President stressed that due to the achievements of the city sports clubs our republic became recognizable not only in Russia but also abroad. However, Rustem Khamitov pointed out that the Ufa stadium "Dynamo" was not full of fans during the Premier League matches. According to the head of the republic, football needs to be developed in the cities of Sterlitamak and Uchaly where there are much more fans.

Recall that FC "Ufa" is now on winter holidays. The championship will be resumed in the spring of 2015. At the moment the Bashkir club is in the 11th place with 18 points.
