Rustem Khamitov: "Every veteran should live in normal conditions"

UFA, 29 December 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Iliya Spiridonov/. More than 4.5 billion rubles from the federal budget were received by Bashkortostan since 2012 to improve living conditions of veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The head of the republic Rustem Khamitov told about this in his interview to "Veteran of Bashkortostan" newspaper.
“Just this year, our republic has received 746.1 million rubles in the form of subventions. Thus, we have solved the problem with housing of 639 veterans. But still there is a lot of work to do,” the President of Bashkortostan said.
According to him, currently there are still about 1 800 people in the waiting list, and the funds that Bashkortostan will receive next year are enough to issue housing certificates for only 1,300 veterans. Therefore, an appeal for additional funding is already prepared to the Russian Government, which would make it possible to completely solve the problem.
“The task is simple - every veteran should live in normal conditions. It should a veteran, not other people”, Rustem Khamitov said. “Therefore awareness work with veterans and their families should be conducted. There should be a strict control by district administrations. I have already given the appropriate instructions.”
