Bashkir State Medical University will train specialists for nuclear medicine

UFA, 17 December 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Bashkir State Medical University will train specialists in nuclear medicine. This was made possible due to its win in the competition on developing and implementing an educational program of professional retraining and educational course in nuclear medicine announced by LLC "PET Technology" in November this year, the press centre of Bashkir State Medical University informs.

“The program includes comprehensive training of specialists that will work directly in this field. These are radiotherapists, radiologists, radiochemists, pharmaceutists, physicists, medical physicists, chief physicians and chief nurses, the so-called management personnel of positron emission tomography and radiosurgery centres”, Valentin Pavlov, the Rector BSMU explained.

The necessity to organize an educational project for training of specialists in the field of nuclear medicine for the institutions of the Russian Federation was mentioned at the opening of the positron emission tomography centre in Ufa in May 2014.

The pilot educational project supposes the training of 36 experts from across the country. The project cost is 17 million rubles.
