Wikipedia development in the languages of the peoples of Russia will be discussed at a conference in Ufa

UFA, 1 December 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Alik Shakirov/. Opening of the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Wikipedia and the Information Society" will be held in Ufa on April 24-26 2015. The conference is organized by Wikimedia Ru in partnership with Bashkir State University and the Institute of History, Language and Literature, Ufa Scientific Centre, Russian Academy of Sciences. The conference is a key event in the framework of «Wiki-Sabantui 2015», dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Bashkir Wikipedia.

According to Rustam Nuriyev, the administrator of the Bashkir Wikipedia, the international forum is aimed at promoting and popularizing the ideology of free dissemination of knowledge, development of publicly available sources of scientific and educational information in the languages of the peoples of Russia and neighbouring countries, solving the problems of computational linguistics.
