Monument to soldiers died during the First World War was unveiled in Bashkortostan

UFA, 28 November 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/. Memorial to the fallen during the First World War opened in Ufa region near Volkovo village.

It is here that villages were located, which inhabitants went to the front in 1914. Total about 500 thousand people were called to the First World War from Ufa and Orenburg provinces.

The idea of the Memorial belongs to the native of one of local villages Vadim Gareev. The monument to the fallen in the First World War is the only one in Bashkortostan so far. It was established and funded by the locals and just non-indifferent people.

It is planned to install a Monument to the World War I and in Ufa too. Until December 1, an open competition for the best project is being held. The sculpture will appear in the memorial park named after the 50th anniversary of Victory.
