Ufa scientists are developing a new technology of children's vaccine manufacture

UFA, 20 November 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Catherine Sokolova/. "Immunopreparat" is developing a new technology of DTP vaccine without merthiolate. It will improve medication to protect children against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus offering a preservative-free method of manufacture.

As the press service of "Microgen" informs, Ufa microbiologists have made a trial series of the vaccine components without preservative. At the moment testing of three experimental series of pertussis suspension of different strains for stability is conducted.

As the head of vaccine department Elena Salimova informs, in April next year it is planned to combine all components of the vaccine according to the new methodology. In case of successful results the registration dossier of the novelty will be submitted to the Russian Ministry of Health. It is expected the vaccine entering the market in 2016.

DTP vaccine has been manufactured in Ufa since 1965. Today, the development of combination vaccines is a priority in modern vaccinology. Such medications take the key place in the WHO Expanded Programme on Immunization.
