Representatives of Bashkortostan will participate in the meeting of TURKSOY Permanent Council in Kazan

UFA, 19 November 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. On November 20-21, the XXXII meeting of the Permanent Council of TURKSOI and celebrations dedicated to the closing of the Year "Kazan - Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" will be held in Kazan.

The key point of the program will be a meeting of culture ministers of Turkic-speaking member countries - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the subjects of the Russian Federation - Altai, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Tuva, Sakha (Yakutia), Khakassia, and Gagauzia (as part of the Republic of Moldova).

The meeting of TURKSOY Ministers in Kazan City Hall will be opened by the Temporary Coordinator – the Minister of Culture of Tatarstan Airat Sibagatullin.

The agenda of the 32th meeting of the Permanent Council includes the elections the Secretary-General and the Interim Coordinator of TURKSOY. The ministers will choose a city that will be a cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2015, the press officer of TURKSOY Laura Chetin reports.

As part of the celebrations a gala concert of the II International TV Song Contest «TURKVISION» will be held closing the events of the Year. The song contest final will be anticipated by the ceremony of handing over symbols of the cultural capital from Kazan to its city-successor elected by TURKSOY ministers.

On November 12, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY was signed in Moscow. This document will help to strengthen humanitarian cooperation between the Russian Federation and TURKSOY, their contacts in the field of culture and art.
