President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov said about necessity to hold Christmas fairs

At the solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Agriculture and Processing Industry the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov named among one of the most effective options for products marketing - agricultural fairs. “For producers it is a good opportunity to sell their goods directly, without intermediaries, for customers - to buy them at affordable prices. Only for the last two months over six thousand tons of potatoes, four thousand tons of vegetables, one thousand tons of meat, 500 tons of honey were sold at Ufa agricultural fairs. And these goods were sold at prices much lower than in stores. In the future, we need to continue this important work, while improving the practice of fairs.”

The head of the republic called for further development of this issue, for organizing trade complying with sanitary requirements, from nice clean counters. Ideally fairs should be held year-round. Rustem Khamitov said about the necessity to hold Christmas fairs this year.

“These Christmas markets should be arranged in all our cities. Fairs should be a civilized form of trade, a kind of unity between towns and villages”, Rustem Khamitov said.
