In Bashkiria visually impaired people can now use facsimile in Russian banks

UFA, 22 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. On October, 21, a law on use of a facsimile reproduction of the handwritten signature for visually impaired people entered into force. Now blind and visually impaired citizens are allowed to put a stamp instead of a signature when performing banking transactions related to issuance, receiving and exchanging cash.
To do this, disabled people should submit a passport or another identity document to a bank official, as well as a disablement certificate and a notarized certificate of the signature identity with its facsimile analogue.
According to the website of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, the law is developed in connection with numerous appeals of citizens and organizations regarding the facsimile application by visually impaired people.
"We hope that this measure will create necessary conditions for visually impaired and blind people in realization of their rights in the field of banking," the director of the Disabled People Affairs Department of the Ministry of Labour RF Grigory Lekarev marked.
