Education is a national treasure and not a service – All-Russia People’s Front

UFA, 20 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Catherine Sokolova/. At an enlarged meeting of the regional All-Russia People’s Front the results of the forum "Quality education to the benefit of our country" held in Penza and attended by the Russian President Vladimir Putin were discussed.

“The forum was necessary for the Russian education system”, co-chairman of the regional department of the All-Russia People’s Front Elvira Aitkulova said. “It should be marked that the data of All-Russia People’s Front are very different from the information provided by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation on the basis of reports sent by regional executives. It turns out that according to the reports things are quite well in the education system, but in fact we see a different situation. So we need to work out a plan of action on improving the education system, which will be sent to the central headquarters of the Front.”

At the enlarged meeting a number of issues raised at the Penza forum were considered: restoration of the educational space unity, reducing the reporting workflow in schools, return to the five-year courses for engineers and teachers, development of guidelines for educational governing councils, correctional schools closing, teachers’ salaries increase, importance of a constructive dialogue between schools and local authorities.

Representatives of the regional department of the All-Russia People’s Front put forward an idea to hold a similar educational forum in the republic.
