Daniil Kvyat showed the fifth result in qualifying round for the Grand Prix of Russia and broke the record of Vitaly Petrov

Daniil Kvyat, the Ufa native, Russian driver of "Toro Rosso" team in Formula 1 showed the fifth result at the home Grand Prix in Sochi, Russia. This result is not only his best qualifying position for the time of participating in Formula 1, but also exceeds the record of Vitaly Petrov, who showed the sixth result in the historic for Russia Australian Grand Prix 2011.

The pole position was taken by the Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, his team-mate Nico Rosberg was the second.

Daniil Kvyat made his debut in Formula 1 in 2014 in the Toro Rosso team and in the next season-2015 he would replace Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull team.

The first race in the history of Grand Prix of Russia kicks off on October 12 at 17.00, Ufa time.
