Since 2015 disabled people will receive rehabilitation equipment through the Social Insurance Fund

Since 2015, powers to provide disabled people with rehabilitation equipment and sanatorium vouchers will be transferred from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection RB to the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Bashkortostan. This was discussed at the meeting chaired by the Minister of Labour and Social Protection RF Maxim Topilin in Ufa on Tuesday, October 7. Also the head of the Federal Social Insurance Fund Andrey Kigim participated in the discussion, the press service of the Ministry of Labour RB informs.

During the meeting, Maxim Topilin requested to sign an agreement on transfer of powers before October 10 this year. However, he stressed, every person with disabilities should be informed that next year he should apply for vouchers and rehabilitation means to the Social Insurance Fund.

Maxim Topilin also requested the regional Social Insurance Fund to strengthen interagency electronic interaction between the Chief Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise and Ufa orthopedic enterprise. The Bashkortostan Social Insurance Fund was recommended to apply the experience accumulated in this sphere in Buryatia. The head of the regional Social Insurance Fund Marat Latypov assured the Russian Labour Minister that authorized representatives of their fund were present in every town and district of the republic. He expects no problems with transmission of databases from the Ministry of Labour Fund.

Maxim Topilin also added that there were plans to introduce a certificate allowing the holder to choose independently technical rehabilitation means manufactured by the company, which he trusted more.
