Environmental clean-up was held near Yuraktau Mountain
UFA, 23 September 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. A two-day cleanup of the nature monument - Yuraktau Mountain was held in Sterlitamak region. As the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology RB informs, it was attended by over 70 people. Among them there were students of secondary school from Belskoe village, members of the Touring Club "Olympus", local residents, officers of Alatin village council, the Committee on Youth Affairs RB, as well as specialists of Sterlitamak Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology.
12 cubic metres of debris were collected and transported to the solid waste landfill with joint efforts.
According to the press-secretary of the Ministry of Environment RB Nina Nikandrova, the main objects of protection at Yuraktau Mountain are rare species of plants. Among them there is koeleria sclerophyllous, Dianthus acicularis, Schivereckia hyperborea, Astragalus helmii. They are listed in the "Red Book of the Republic of Bashkortostan". In addition, insects requiring special protection live here: Grasshopper - Saga pedo Pall, rare species of butterflies - Parnassius apollo, Parnassius mnemosyne and Iphiclides podalirius.
