This year more than 24.4 thousand first-year students will begin their studies in Bashkortostan

This year more than 24.4 thousand young people enrolled in universities of Bashkortostan will become participants of solemn events devoted to the Day of Knowledge. They are traditionally attended by representatives of the administration of higher education institutions, deans, professors and students.

At Bashkir State Pedagogical University the Knowledge Day will begin at 12 am. Students will get acquainted with the management of the university. The best creative teams of the university will dance and sing for the newcomers, the press centre of Bashkir State Pedagogical University informs. This year eight thousands of applications were submitted to the university, two thousand applicants became students. The competition in some courses reached 20 people per place.

At Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU) the solemn ceremony began at 9 o'clock in the square in front of the Palace of Culture named after Ordzhonikidze. 3725 people are enrolled in USPTU from 42 regions of the Russian Federation. Among the enrolled there are 161 foreign nationals from 10 countries.
