In Bashkiria Ice Bucket Challenge participants donated about 100 thousand rubles to "Our Children" Foundation
In Bashkortostan participants of the flash mob Ice Bucket Challenge transferred to the Charity Foundation "Nashi Deti" (Our Children) about 100 thousand rubles for two weeks, the Foundation CEO Olga Vlasova informs.
Total for July 539.7 thousand rubles were transferred to the Foundation. One-fifth of that amount is accounted for donations of the charity event participants.
Recall that the Ice Bucket Challenge was launched in the USA in order to support patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Participants of the flashmob should pour themselves with ice water, upload the video on the Internet and challenge the following three people. They, in turn, will have to choose between two options: to repeat the procedure or to remit the money for charity. Celebrities took part in the flashmob: Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, Justin Bieber and Hugh Jackman. In Russia, this initiative was supported by the stars of show business, politics and public figures. In Bashkortostan the flashmob was organized in support of the "Our Children" Charity Foundation.
Meanwhile a new flashmob Big C Challenge gains popularity in the world in support of cancer patients (C - the first letter of the word «cancer»). To date, about 100 celebrities have already taken part in it. Though, the new idea has not reached Russia yet.
“Nobody has offered us to carry out such a campaign in support of cancer patients. But we will be pleased to support it, because we direct a lot of funds for expensive surgery for children suffering from cancer,” Olga Vlasova says.
