The Russian largest furniture company has created the world's longest sofa
The longest sofa in the history of mankind was made in Russia. A new record was set on the quay of Saratov and became the seventh Russian record in the Guinness Book of Records.
Earlier United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, China, Poland, Greece and Norway tried to beat the record of "the longest sofa". Last Norwegian version of the longest sofa - the team work of several furniture manufacturers - was 890 m.
Russia's new record was created by the furniture company - "Mnogo Mebeli".
It took more than a dozen trucks to deliver the sofa on the quay of Saratov.
Location for the sofa was not chosen by chance: Saratov – is the hometown of the main production facility of "Mnogo Mebeli".
7,5 km of red eco-leather was used at the manufacture of the sofa, delivered by the general partner of the project - the company "Soyuz-M."
At the same time 2,500 guests of the festival managed to seat comfortably on the sofa. Total, according to various reports, the festival was visited by more than 15 thousand people.
The judge of the Guinness Book of Records - Anna Orford was invited for registering the record.
Immediately after the measurement made by tacheometer, the judge announced the establishment of a new world record and presented the official certificate of the Book of Records to the company management.
The length of the sofa-champion was 1 kilometre!
We should not forget that "The longest sofa in the world" is not just a world record. In such an original way furniture makers decided to help children who desperately need our help. Unique items of 1/500 of the sofa will be available in stores of the company in August and part of the proceeds from their sale will be donated to the Charity Foundation "Give Life" founded by Dina Korzun and Chulpan Khamatova.
