Rustem Khamitov told Moscow reporters about Ufa’s bid to host the World Games 2021
On Wednesday, August 6, in Moscow, Rustem Khamitov, the head of the republic gave a presentation of Ufa’s Bid Book to host World Games-2021 at a press conference in Itar-Tass.
According to the press service of the head of the republic, he told reporters of federal media about a sport potential of Bashkortostan, amount of work that was done while preparations for international sports forum. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Sports of Russia Pavel Kolobkov, the head of Ufa administration Irek Yalalov.
Rustem Khamitov expressed his confidence in success of the World Games in the event of Ufa winning bid.
"According to preliminary estimates, we have 21 sports facilities of the required 25 for the Games. We are also plannning to build a gymnastic area, a gym for martial arts, a temporary stadium for water sports and we are dreaming about a track and field arena", the head of the region said. He stressed that Bashkortostan secured support of the Government, the Ministry of Sports of Russia, of sports federations, which are included in the Games program.
"World Games are low-budget and do not require a construction of new facilities. All competitions can be carried out at the existing venues. It is not necessary to build an Olympic Village - participants will be able to live in boarding houses, camping sites, holiday centres", Rustem Khamitov said.
