Safin and Ganeev without medals at Fencing World Championship in Kazan

Team men’s foil tournament was held at the Fencing World Championship in Kazan.

Russian fencers were left without medals having lost the first three positions to French, Chinese and Italian teams.

In the 1/8 finals Dmitry Rigin, Alexey Cheremisinov and fencers from Bashkiria Renal Ganeev and Timur Safin easily beat Mexico - 45:24.

In the quarterfinals South Korea showed a strong resistance having lost with a score 43:45.

In the semifinals Russia was stopped by France - 45:40, and in the third-place match our musketeers conceded to Italians - 29:45.
