Members of the "Russia" expedition arrived in Ufa

Members of the "Russia" expedition arrived in Ufa as part of three crews. They had a tour over the city and took part in the flashmob "The Heart of the City" in Salavat Yulaev’s Square.
The "Russia" expedition is a unique project announced in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest word written using cars with a GPS-tracker on the map of the country. For two months a motorcade will issue letters of many kilometres length over our vast homeland.
“The idea to write the word "Russia" with a tracker and follow it came when I was looking through the reviews of my friends’ travels, where they showed their way on the map”, Ian Yarmoshchuk, the member of the expedition said. “Nothing but the word "Russia" crossed my mind, what else could you write on the map of your country? We would like to develop domestic tourism. We have a large, interesting country. All towns are similar in infrastructure and services. You can just take the car and start your journey.”
During the expedition, participants will fill the web portal smorodina.com with shots of sights - the list of ten places to visit in each city will be formed by number of "likes". By the way, every visitor can sign up and upload pictures to the website.
In each city, the expedition organizes a flash mob - "The Heart of the City": people line up in a heart shape, and a camera mounted on the quadrocopter will shot them from the top. After completion of the expedition on July 30 (Vladivostok will be the last city) Sergei Dolya will make an exhibition "The Hearts of Russian cities" where pictures of flash mobs in all the cities visited by the expedition will be collected. In addition, the "The Heart of Ufa" can be found in the search engine "Sputnik".
After Ufa the members of the expedition will go to Chelyabinsk, then to Yekaterinburg, Perm, Izhevsk and Yelabuga. It is planned to go 18,000 kilometres and visit 44 cities.
Travelers can be followed on the website exprussia.ru.
