International research and practice conference will unite ophthalmic surgeons of East and West in Ufa

The V International Research and Practice Conference on Ophthalmosurgery "East-West-2014" will be held at Ufa Congress Hall on June 5-6. The forum is organized by Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases and the Academy of Sciences RB.

It will be attended by more than 700 ophthalmologists from different regions of Russia: from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Chita. The conference program is organized in a new format –"West" and "East" sections are presented. Near abroad countries will be represented by ophthalmologists of Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. More than 30 leading experts in the world of ophthalmology will arrive from abroad.

Within the "West" section the known European ophthalmologists from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the United States will report on their progress in treatment of eye diseases.

"East" will be represented by scientists from China, India, Japan, as well as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Traditionally "live surgery" will be presented in the practical part - online demonstration of operations to be held by leading surgeons of the Ufa Research Institute, Italy, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg.

For the first time an online broadcast of the conference will be organized.

Five breakout sessions will feature presentations on topical issues of ophthalmology. Satellite symposia are specialized in certain areas of ophthalmopathology.

Total about 100 reports will be heard at the forum, competitions will be held: for the best report in sections, and the best e-poster.

Traditionally an extensive exhibition of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and scientific literature is scheduled, where developments of Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases will be also displayed.
