Russian Foreign Ministry recommends tourists avoid visiting Bangkok

The Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia urges Russian citizens to avoid visiting Bangkok for tourism purposes, exercise extreme caution and discretion and comply with all requirements of law enforcement bodies.
Such warnings are related to the fact that on May 22 the military command of Thailand announced the abolition of the Constitution and temporary dissolution of the Cabinet, which functions are transferred to the National Committee on Peacekeeping. Throughout the country a defense emergency regime continues to operate, a curfew is introduced (from 22.00 to 5.00), including in the resort areas.
Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights), in turn, encourages tour operators and agents, selling trips to Thailand, inform tourists about the current situation in the country and offer other recreation options and for those who have already purchased tours to Thailand, possibly replace them with other tours.
