VII Education Week of SCO member-states "Education without Borders" opened in Ufa

Today, on May 21, Ufa Congress Hall hosts the VII Week of Education of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization "Education without Borders". The International Forum, which has become traditional for the SCO member states - China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, is held since 2008.

“We are pleased that Ufa welcomes one of the first events opening Russia's presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization”, Sergey Molchanov, the Head of the Presidential Executive Office of Bashkortostan welcomed the forum participants.

“Bashkortostan is a large multinational republic, where more than 120 nationalities live. Also the region is considered to be one of the nation's leaders in the field of science, higher and vocational education,” the Deputy Prime Minister RB Salavat Sagitov said.

Bashkir State Pedagogical University was included in the network of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University in 2013. The institution is one of the leading universities in the educational space of SCO. Our university presented an exhibition of its achievements and teaching experience at the forum.

Two round table-conferences with online broadcasting will be organized as part of the Week: "Modernization of pedagogical staff training process in the higher education system of the Eurasian environment" - at Bashkir State Pedagogical University, and "Convergence of educational programs in the online university in the field of economics "- at Ufa State Aviation Technical University.

In total, the SCO University includes now 82 universities. This university is not a separate institution in a usual sense. It is a network of universities of SCO states united by one goal - training of highly qualified personnel in priority areas of economic, scientific, educational, technical and cultural cooperation. Network of universities also function in states-observers: India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan.

In the network university training of highly qualified personnel is carried out in area studies, ecology, energy sector, IT- technology and nanotechnology. Russia is represented in the SCO University by such major universities as MGIMO, Moscow State University, St. Petersburg University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, Novosibirsk National Research State University, St. Petersburg Electrotechnical and Ural Federal University, Russian University of Peoples' Friendship.

The Education Week will be focused on discussing the development of international cooperation in education and science within the areas of "Pedagogics" and "Economics"; system of highly qualified personnel and pedagogical staff training for the Universities of SCO, ensuring the formation of the Eurasian educational environment; implementation of joint research programs and projects.

Recall that the presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will go to Russia in autumn 2014. In 2015, the International Summits of SCO and BRICS Heads of States and Governments will held in the capital of Bashkortostan.
