"Victory Start" motor rally will be held in Zilairsky region on May 9

Today, on May 8, a gala reception for WWII veterans is organized in Zilairsky region.

Yesterday members of the All-Russian public organization "Young Guard of United Russia" carried out the "St. George Ribbon" campaign in the main street of Zilair village, during which orange and black symbols of victory were distributed.

A new feature of this year celebrations is the "Victory Start" motor rally. Its members will lay flowers to all the monuments and obelisks in settlements of the region.

Local celebrations will be held on May 9. In the morning in rural settlements marches and meetings will be organized with laying flowers to the monuments and obelisks to soldiers perished on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War. Mass sporting and cultural events will also be conducted. In the evening "Candle of Memory" youth event will be held. Traditionally, each Victory Day ends with colourful fireworks, the information- analytical department of the regional administration reports.
