During environmental clean-ups 124 illegal dumps are found in Bashkiria

During the past in Bashkortostan environmental clean-ups 124 illegal dumps were discovered. Half of them have already been eliminated. This was told by the Minister of Nature Management and Ecology RB Ildar Hadyev at a briefing session in the Government of the Republic.

This year, 827 objects were checked, environmental law violations were identified at 124 of them. Primarily water reservoirs and park areas, areas with forest plantations were inspected.

The bulk of violations - about 70 percent – were related to unauthorized waste disposal. The greatest number of infringements was recorded in the territory of Ufa, Sterlitamak, Meleuzovsky and Bizhbulyaksky regions.

“89 individuals were brought to administrative responsibility” the Minister said.

According to Ildar Hadyev, from the beginning of volunteer clean-up campaign since April 12, the republic's territory has been cleaned by 40 percent. The highest results are achieved in Salavat, Agidel, Ufa. Also along with volunteer clean-ups planting of trees is carried out in the localities.

“Today, more than 14000 trees and shrubs are planted. Miyakinsky region is the leader in planting activities where 4.5 thousand of nursery transplants are planted,” the head of the environmental agency marked.

According to the decree of the Government of Bashkortostan, sanitation and accomplishment will be continued in the republic until May 17.
